Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose and structure of ESRS E2 and identify which disclosure requirements apply to their organisation based on materiality assessment.
  2. Develop pollution prevention and control policies that cover air, water, soil, substances of concern, and the value chain (E2-1).
  3. Identify and report key pollutant releases to air, water, and soil using the E-PRTR framework and additional measured pollutants (E2-4).
  4. Build and maintain a substance of concern register covering SoC, SVHC, and the new mandatory microplastics datapoint (E2-5).
  5. Set measurable pollution reduction targets with base years, milestones, and scientific or regulatory benchmarks (E2-3).
  6. Prepare ESRS E2 disclosure narratives and quantitative data tables ready for inclusion in the sustainability statement, including the centralised financial effects approach under ESRS 2 (E2-6).
