Replay Constitution
Status: Supreme Domain Authority
1. Purpose
Replay is a constitutional capability of the ZAYAZ platform.
This Constitution governs how constitutional executions are reproduced, verified, explained, and audited.
Replay shall preserve confidence in historical decisions without requiring identical implementations.
2. Constitutional Philosophy
Replay exists to demonstrate that constitutional decisions remain explainable over time.
Replay is not debugging.
Replay is constitutional verification.
Replay preserves:
- trust;
- evidence;
- governance;
- auditability;
- explainability;
- constitutional continuity.
3. Constitutional Authority
Platform replay behavior shall conform to this Constitution.
Replay implementations—including TrustGate Replay Profiles (TG-RP)—shall extend, but never weaken, the constitutional principles defined herein.
4. Replay Principles
CR-001 Constitutional Replay
Every governed execution shall declare replay semantics.
CR-002 Replay Evidence
Replay shall be based upon preserved constitutional evidence.
Evidence shall not be reconstructed from assumptions.
CR-003 Replay Manifests
Every replayable execution shall possess a replay manifest.
Replay manifests are constitutional artifacts.
CR-004 Replay Identity
Replay identity shall survive:
- implementation changes;
- infrastructure changes;
- deployment changes;
- software upgrades.
CR-005 Explainable Replay
Replay results shall identify:
- evidence used;
- governing policy;
- constitutional authority;
- replay profile;
- replay outcome.
5. Replay Profiles
Every replayable component shall declare exactly one replay profile.
Replay profiles classify replay behaviour.
Canonical replay modes are:
- EXACT
- BANDED
- RECORDED
Additional replay modes require constitutional approval.
6. Replay Equivalence
Replay equivalence shall be evaluated according to the declared replay profile.
EXACT
Replay reproduces identical governed outputs.
BANDED
Replay reproduces outputs within a constitutionally governed tolerance.
Tolerance shall originate from governed policy.
RECORDED
Replay verifies the integrity and provenance of previously recorded constitutional outputs.
7. Replay Drift
Replay divergence outside declared constitutional limits shall generate a replay drift event.
Replay drift is constitutional evidence.
Replay drift shall never be silently ignored.
Decision-material replay drift shall require constitutional review.
8. Replay Governance
Replay parameters—including tolerances, model identities, replay modes, and replay evidence requirements—shall be governed constitutional artifacts.
Runtime components shall consume replay governance.
Runtime components shall not define replay governance.
9. Constitutional Invariants
CR-100
Every replayable execution declares one replay profile.
CR-101
Every replay profile is governed.
CR-102
Replay manifests are immutable constitutional artifacts.
CR-103
Replay evidence preserves lineage.
CR-104
Replay shall remain explainable.
CR-105
Replay tolerances shall originate from governed policy.
CR-106
Replay drift shall be recorded.
CR-107
Constitutional replay precedes implementation replay.
10. Conformance
Every replay-capable module shall demonstrate conformance with this Constitution.
Replay specifications—including TG-RP—shall document how constitutional replay principles are realized.
11. Future Evolution
Future replay capabilities may introduce additional replay strategies, evidence models, and verification mechanisms.
Future extensions shall preserve constitutional replay principles while strengthening auditability and explainability.
